At the FFG Quantum Ideation Days, researchers, corporates, and experts come together to work on industrial use cases.
For real-world use cases to emerge from early-stage technologies, there needs to be space to explore new possibilities, exchange across disciplines, and create ideas that bridge research and practice.
That is what the first Quantum Ideation Days on November 25–26, 2026 is designed for. The goal is to jointly develop quantum use cases and build the bridge between research and practice.
Because institutions that act on quantum today will define the industries of tomorrow.
Discover where quantum technologies can create real value for your industry.
Dialogue between science, industry and end users.
Develop concrete quantum use cases together, from first idea to tangible concept.
What to tackle at Quantum Ideation Days 2026
These are the topics you could deep dive into with quantum technologies.
Challenges are concrete, real-world problems brought in by a specific organisation, with a defined context and a clear need to explore through quantum technologies.
Opportunity fields are broader application areas designed to explore and identify promising quantum use cases from a technology-driven perspective.

FOR FOUNDERS AND INDUSTRY EXPERTS
Want to work on a real quantum use case in an interdisciplinary team and learn from experts? Then register your interest individually or in teams - we will get back to you when applications are open!
Who are we looking for?
Quantum technology owners — in organizations
Domain experts — from industry
(Aspiring) founders — in the quantum field
Startup teams — with a quantum focus
Researchers — from academic & non-academic institutions
Data scientists — with expertise/previous experience in quantum technologies
At a later stage, you will be able to submit specific interest for a challenge you would like to work on. Participants are allocated to teams and challenges based on mutual interest and complementary expertise.
Two days, one goal: turning real challenges into concrete quantum use cases. Detailed program subject to minor changes.
DAY 1 · WEDNESDAY
November 25, 2026
DAY 2 · THURSDAY
November 26, 2026
Teams on site will work on one of the following technology tracks.
Leveraging special properties (such as entanglement) of qubits to solve problems where classical computers reach their limits — where complexity grows exponentially.
Using the quantum physical properties of particles (atoms, ions, electrons or photons) to perform measurements with a precision far beyond what classical instruments can achieve.
Encoding and transmitting information by using the laws of quantum physics — with theoretically unbreakable security based on the laws of nature.
Two perspectives, one shared opportunity: shape what quantum will mean for your field.
The Ideation Days offer a hands-on entry point into a future-relevant technology field that is still abstract for most companies.
Explore a next-step ready quantum opportunity for your business.
The Ideation Days help research teams translate scientific and technological questions into tangible quantum use cases, shaped together with companies, domain experts and interdisciplinary teams.
Explore collaboration and transfer opportunities with the industry.
